According to an article by the Inter Press Service today (5-14-08), the United States is violating an international protocol that forbids the recruitment of children under the age of 18 for military service. Here's a link to the story at Common Dreams.org

Dave Meserve may have something here. He gathered enough signatures to place a measure on the ballot in Arcata Ca. that would ban the military from doing this very thing.
