It was brought to my attention that there is a bill in the U.S. House of Congress that would amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act commonly known as the Clean Water Act.

What does this mean? Are they taking jurisdiction of our wells?

It is clear that the U.S. Congress wishes to flex its muscle over all 50 states by imposing its will onto the people. When you see the congressional districts that are represented by the bill's supporters, you see what is really going on: a minority is making all the noise and getting what it wants at the detriment to the rest of us. Why should we be surprised? Isn't this what Congress has been doing for the last ±200 years? WE THE PEOPLE need to be more responsible when choosing whom to elect to represent us in D.C.
There is a clause in the proposal that specifies Congresses permission for states to have more stringent laws; however, what if the citizens of states like Hawaii, Alaska, or Wyoming choose to ignore federal regulations? How is it WE THE PEOPLE are so quick to allow the federal government to regulate us so heavily and gives us back so little? Are WE THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA incapable of managing our own water resources? Or is it that a few elected members of congress have decided that THEY know better what is best for WE THE PEOPLE?
Okay, time to get off my soapbox. Down size the feds and give the power and responsibility to the states, where it belongs…
