Over all, demand at food banks across the country increased by 30 percent in 2008 from the previous year, according to a survey by Feeding America, which distributes more than two billion pounds of food every year. And while pantries usually see a drop in demand after the holiday season, many in upscale suburbs this year are experiencing the opposite.

Isn't this about the same increase we are seeing in gun sales and ammo?
The recent rise in gun and ammo sales has been attributed by right winged fear mongers to the Obama Administration's plans to take our guns away.
George Bush already did this during the Katrina disaster. He used Blackwater agents to do it.
Is the current economic situation having more to do with these things than the current administration?
